I am not going to discuss what he did or didn't do for the environment as this was not a big issue in the 80s. Obviously from your comment you were not an adult at the time. The issue here is not politics but the sadness of all the homes being destroyed including the beautiful Reagan library setting and the graves of a president and his wife. I just hope the library isn't damaged and hope these fires are soon a thing of the past . Let's not bring politics into this.

The firefighters could do nothing, the library staff could evacuate, the fire could burn right on through, and that building would be fine. They trimmed the scrub all around it and made the structure fireproof, just like the Getty.

I certain hope you are right. apparently they have done a great job of keeping the growth done to a minimum. We have visited the library a couple of times as well as a few others. It is one of the nicest we hav ever visited
