The vaccine (when and if it’s ready) may be longer coming to California than we thought. In his quest to hold onto his dictatorship, Newsom has now decreed that any vaccine won’t be allowed here until his “experts” say it’s ok. Just when you thought this guy can’t get any worse, he proves you wrong. What a piece of work.

Please. Russia??? Take off the tin foil hat. There are plenty of experts outside of California that are qualified to approve a vaccine.
Mike, it may sound outlandish, but it's probably for the better. People have taken ill after being given the various developmental vaccines. It's not a sure thing yet. And I sure as hell am not going to be injected with a cocktail of who-knows-the-f***-what!
If it was just Trump pushing it through I would agree. However, the FDA had said they won’t rush anything through. It has to be done right.
I don’t trust Newsom to do the right thing. Someone already pointed this out, but it’s interesting that his new color coded system doesn’t have a level where all restrictions are lifted. The best you can get is minimal where “ Most indoor business operations are open with modifications.” That means not all are open and the ones that are open need to be modified.
It seems like he intends to keep restrictions on permanently. If not, why isn’t there a level with no restrictions?

Your hatred of Trump is clouding your judgement. The FDA won’t let it be pushed through while Newsom will likely take at least a year to decide if the commoners will be allowed to have his highness allow them to take the vaccine.
I wonder if that’s even legal. For sure they’ll be multiple lawsuits if it gets that far.

The companies that field a vaccine that safely protects against coronavirus infection — even if it prevents infection in just 50% of cases — will become rich and respected. (There probably will be more than one vaccine candidate authorized by the FDA.)
But the company whose vaccine sickens a significant number of Americans will wish it had never heard of Operation Warp Speed, the government program to accelerate vaccine development.
Trump has the legal authority to make the FDA approve an experimental vaccine on his say-so because he is the chief executive and this is an executive agency.
In the midst of a national emergency, the FDA has a great deal of legal latitude in granting emergency use authorization to drugs or vaccines. It can also modify its criteria as circumstances change.
