What about 8?

The difference is a matter of four percentage points and a few hundred thousand votes with only five percent of precincts not reported. It's unlikely the result will change, but it might get closer. Oh well though, religious conservatives put abortion for minor measures on the ballot every year, we have the same right to put marriage right measures on the ballot every year and I hope we do.

Oh woah....

I'm very disappointed right now. Is there a way we can appeal this decision, or is it final?

I am confused. Wasn't it an amendment to the constitution? Is this is going to be on again?

It could be. Some measures fail every year and yet they are put up again and again. So who knows. I'm going to wait and see because I think there will definitely be a lawsuit that gets the Supreme Court involved.

I am a mom of young children and my concern is what they may teach at school. Otherwise I couldn't care less what the results were.

Well, even if Prop 8 had failed, gay marriage wouldn't be taught in schools. And if they were going to bring it up in class you would have to sign a permission slip which if you didn't sign it your children would be sent to do another activity. The teaching stuff was just a lie propagated by the Yes on 8 campaign.

Someone told me that it was already taught in schools as life style choices. I guess I am as uncomfortable about having to talk about this with my kids as I will be about the birds and the bees. I want to decide when to do it myself.

Enjoy your monorail in 2040 and your 15% sales tax to pay for it starting in a couple of years.

Well, now you don't have to worry about it, I guess.
