Thanks for the input. I'll take the wait and see approach. What's next??? Wait until they outlaw food, lipstick and talking to kids in the back seat!!! Heck, eventually we might as well outlaw cars.

The funny thing is, if I were to mount my GPS in the lower lefthand corner, it would block a large amount of my view.

I have it mounted above the center rearview mirror. The GPS itself is above the windshield, and the mount itself makes almost no difference to visibility. Laws be damned, it's much safer this way. Heck, I'm leaving the state tomorrow.
