I'm willing to bet that the scum(politicians) will attempt to stop or delay that from happening. They will find a way to thwart the will of the people.
This state needs some balance or it will die.

Perhaps a Constitutional Convention? IMO that would help save California.

Actually, Garamendi is expected toiannounce that he's running for the soon to be vacant East Bay Congressional seat now held by Rep. Ellen Tauscher, D-Walnut Creek, who has been tapped for a job in the Obama Administration state department. Several other Democrats are also planning to run and Tauscher has endorsed State Senator Mark DeSaulnier of Walnut Creek.

This could be fun.

As for Newsom, he probably could win. This IS Kahleeforneeya after all!

Newsom, has been MIA to San Francisco as a leader and is selfishly and officially running for Governor. Well at least we might get some drama out of the race now hat he is running, wonder just how much of his love life and political sacandals will be aired as he runs?

Sadly, I think he may win. People really are that stupid, on average.

Only if Jerry Brown doesn't run contrary to all appearances. Gavin couldn't beat Brown at all. He's got way too many negatives. All he has are looks.

Just imagine Gov. Newsom dealing with a budget crisis - he'd check himself into rehab like a crybaby. His management skills would make Arnold look great.

Does he have looks? He isn't even appealing to the younger crowd anymore.

He's appealing to certain younger women, obviously (not to mention middle aged women who see him as a hot hunky younger guy).

Newsom and Villaraigosa, as said earlier by me, should have gone into acting rather than politics. If Newsom is like a current movie star, Tony V. is the middle aged leading man who middle aged and older women still love. Neither is suited for an executive position in government, Gavin even less so than Tony.

What's scarier than Gavin running for governor (mainly because I don't see him beating Jerry Brown in the primary) is Kamala Harris running for AG, as Kamala has a genuine possibility of winning. Given her record in SF, that should be a VERY scary thought.
