Your thinking & those you support are as narrow as insecurity allows. As I have expressed, step back from the podium, your people are better off focusing on "speaking in tongues" & other Bible stories
Clearly you have both reading and comprehension issues that you really should try to address before you become very much older. Either that or perhaps you're operating on the basis of early onset dimentia.

I am not a Republican. I do not belong to nor vote the ticket of any political party. I don't have to. I am capable of thinking for myself and voting accordingly no matter on which side of the aisle an idea originates.

During my 25 years of state employment, a third of it law enforcement and the remainder in politics and legislation I worked for governors from both major parties. It was those years of being in that venue and profession that convinced me that neither party has a lock on reality and I became a "decline to state," total independent 13 years ago.

You really need to learn to separate your thought process from your party. It's either that or remain a puppet!

By the way, the term is "party hack," not "party Happ."

Coming from a union member, I find it difficult that you would have any hesitation to realize who supports you & who condemns you. BTW, happy that you are a former state employee. Don't you recall when Arnold was our brand new governor & then tired to attack the unions? He was slaughtered by the people of California [next day he hired a Democrat as his chief of staff

Actually, I hadn't been a union member for many years. I was a senior manager. And I certainly remember Susan Kennedy when she worked for Gray Davis, as well as Schwarzenegger and I locked horns with her and the Governor's legislative secretaries more than once under both administrations.

Interestingly enough, my oldest stepdaughter is a union representative for state workers -- not a shop steward -- actually working for the union. She and I can have some great conversations.

Oh, yeah, Hack. Here's one to make your day. I'm sure you recognize the gentleman on the lefthttp://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2244/7/36/1175481688/s1175481688_30236854_6885.jpg (broken link). The youngster on the right is me back in the day.

didn't the teachers union in California talk about how the teachers aren't getting enough money, yet the union gave money to the no on prop 8 campaign?

Can't make out much in the photo. Were you in the National Guard in that photo?

And let's all give up our A/C units while we're at it since that's part of the problem too. It's a slippery slope. Next thing you know we'll be limited to how much we can drive our cars too.

Some of the CARB laws don't make much sense, or are counterproductive. This one might reduce emissions but it would cause more toxins to be produced in the new paint - hmmm, that's a step in the right direction.... I have a car that will pass the emissions test, but since it has parts under the hood that aren't from the factory and don't have CARB numbers, it can't be tested. And yet, it almost runs cleaner and gets better mileage than it did stock. How much sense does that make? CARB needs some overhauling in my opinion, just like the CA government.

If you're a car guy, be sure and join the SEMA Action Network (google it). It's the only org out there keeping CARB in check and preventing ridiculous legislation like this from getting passed.

Well, there you go again!

That's Ronald Reagan on the left and me on the right as his military escort and also in charge of military security for him.

I was an active duty NG officer at the time, having left the Regular Army a couple of years before following my return from overseas.

The year was 1973.

If the scientists conclude that black paint on cars causes increased fuel usage than it is expected that our state will step in. You see, that is what the majority expect in California & why our state are very uncomfortable with anti-intellectual phobia.
I guess if you actually quit posting by the "Democratic Party How To Respond to a Republican on-line" handbook, actually read (and more importantly) understood what I wrote, and seen my previous posting history, you would see just how wrong you are in every word you've typed...

There is some truth to this, however, if that were the intent for the law, they would be proposing the banning of all vehicles, equipment, or machinery that has a petroleum powered internal combustion engine. That is not what they were proposing.

If the interest were in protecting the resources for everyone, they would be better off coming up with a rationing scheme, limiting the amount of petroleum products a person could purchase. That would mean that the person with the Toyota Corolla could travel a lot further on their allotment than a person with a Volvo S80.

More importantly, how about limiting the interior volume of all vehicles to their absolute minimum, so the air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard to cool off the vehicle? This would certainly be more effective than limiting the choice of paint colors.

awesome!!! local gov in full effect!!! I love that CA is progressive... if you want something else, there are 49 other states! It is when this stuff is done at a federal level like the last 8 years when it is b.s.
If you want your ultra small gov state, go at it there and create that as well... Maybe we will unhomogenize this country!
BTW these same type of progressive laws and innovations created the best public university system in the U.S. as well as the largest high tech hub in the US!
If people are voting this in, more power to them!
I thought it was an absolute shame they didn't pass gay marriage.
Laissez-Faire only works short term...then creates the ultra rich and ultra poor for a few generations...then nobody else can have at it, oh yeah, thats america!
Please if anybody wants to switch with me, you can come to the other sunshine state FL which is backwards and regressive, I'll trade you for the progressive CA.
