I was hoping that some of you would be able to tell me what it is about California that you love?

I would like to know the town and part of California you live in so that I know why it is that you love that area so much.

Details are great... so bring it on.
I look forward to hearing the reasons.

Default Climate & Access

Suburbs of Sacramento:

#1 Love the climate. Although a few weeks (at least) in the summer above 100--these few weeks are the only negative to the climate. Kids love to be outdoors playing most of the year.

#2 Access to other areas. We are 1.5-2 hours to the Ocean or the Sierra Snow.

I love so much about California that I know I will leave stuff out.
But to start, I love...

The weather.
The ocean.
The mountains.
The people.
The activities. (so much to do).
The progressive feel. (not backwards but forward thinking).

I love California because it's home! In Palm Desert we are close to the mountains, the beaches, and of course we are already in the desert! You can get to a lot of places in a fairly reasonable amount of time. Palm Desert weather is gorgeous until summer hits - then you can cook your food on the sidewalk outside!!! Palm Desert is a good place for families as well as singles or retireds. There is something for everyone here. Sure, during season it is more crowded, but there are several ways to get around the traffic/crowds. The evenings are breathtaking, our mountain views are spectacular and it's a very clean, safe environment.

Climate......able to grow veggies all year long.
Never was able to do that back east without a cold frame!

What I love also on a sarcastic slant..........sirens, freeway traffic, helicopters and ambulances and all the associated noises of So. California Suburban Life!
I'm jaded

Since March I've had the opportunity to sit outside in my bathing suit, start my tomatoes, pick a ripe orange off a local tree, walk my dog in shorts, go to a TV show taping, sit outside at night on the patio and feel warm, go to a major art exhibit, and drive 3 hours to Las Vegas, see the cacti bloom.

The down-side? Snow birds!
