The previous president showed us that conservatives can be just as if not more reckless than liberals when it comes to spending like there's no tomorrow.

Simply claiming to be a 'conservative' doesnt mean much these days.

The banking and mortgage problems were pure Democrat congressional problems. Do the research.

I've read both of the articles you posted, and no I would not vote for him based on those.

Banking and mortgage problems were created by both parties. Without going into all of the item by item issues (much of it is listed in Great Debates, for anyone who wants to read that stuff) the Democrats wanted to expand home ownership, and loosened some of the qualifying requirements. Republicans deregulated the financial markets, and oversight, allowing excessively "creative" financing packages to be marketed to investors without sufficient disclosure of risk.

Both can absorb plenty of blame.

California's problems aren't a federal issue.

All the youngsters out there should learn about the Sagebrush Rebellion, as well as the GOP Presidential Primary of 1976. These among other things set the stage for the miracle of 1980.

And Clinton did NOTHING to set the stage?
