What progress has the California sate legislator made with California's budget? Have they come to an agreement on the budget?

State, County or City? They are all upside down. Look for that Union label.

No, if and when they do the problems will still exist. No money, higher taxes and no jobs. At least for awhile.

Even if the Legislature and the Governor's Office were capable of coming up with a budget on time it would still be full of smoke and mirrors, cost deferrals, fund transfers and other such gimics rendering it a mere ruse. The question is not coming up with a budget, which they did, but coming up with one that doesn't start with a huge hole and isn't based upon trickery and false assumptions. Meanwhile the Legislature and the people, through the initiuative process, continue to add new categoical spending requirements that ensure the state will remain broke and in crisis.

I agree. Why does every other voting district in the State keep re-electing these buffoons? The person I voted for is doing a fantastic job.

Signed,
California Voters

It's not necessarily that they keep getting re-elected so much as they keep jumping around. When California enacted term limits, it may have technically limited someone's term but for all intents and purposes they're still there. Case in point-you'll have someone who's an assemblyman, but when that term expires then they'll run for Treasurer, and probably get it because of constituents, name recognition, and existing connections in the legislature. When that expires, on to another legislative post.

A lot of the same people stagnate there. You can implement rules, but they'll find a way around it. Maybe one of California's problems is that is has a full time legislature (unlike other states)-one of the ways for the members to justify their full time existance there (rather than moving on) is to keep enacting all these extra laws we don't need.

I agree. We need a part time legislature. They sure are stupid law crazy. I wonder if their family & friends dislike them as much as i do. Raising ALL the dmv fees, sales tax & income tax was a pathetic, greedy move they did. Most politicians were bullied as kids or they were nurds & this is their revenge.
