Hello there! My husband is considering putting in for a transfer with his company, they currently have an opening in the Fontana/Rancho Cucamonga area. We are looking for information on the area that will help us decide if we are interested in making the move. We have two young children so we would like to know what areas are the safest, good schools, parks and family oriented entertainment. We would preferably like to live somewhere close to the Rancho Cucamonga area or within like 30-40 minutes so he wouldn't have such a long commute. Any information would be great, since we have never been to the area and currently live out of state. Thank you all in advance!

School Performance Maps is a good start
To get a graphic idea of rents, HousingMaps
For real estate, www.redfin.com

Also, here is a toolbox for househunters; it's focused on OC but a lot of these tools apply all over CA:

Fontana sucks... R.C. has some nice housing.
