I'm heading out to central WY next week. However, I am self-sufficient and only stop for fuel and for relief of myself and the two dogs. Once in a campground or dispersed area, I keep to myself, might wave to someone. So no masks needed while camping. While traveling, I'll keep one with me if I need to go into a service station, or rest area; that's it.
Unless you are nosy and/or need to always be bothering other people, camping tends to be socially distanced from strangers anyway.

Camping is safer than staying in a hotel from a covid perspective.

Rustic campsites are usually more spread out.

It is pretty easy to stay 6 feet away from other people when you are camping.

UV (sun) kills most viruses, so I would not be overly worried about the picnic table, but you could spray it with a bleach based cleaner if you like.

There is nothing magical about state lines that makes it less safe to go to the market or a gas station in another state than it is at your home area.

RIGHT ON!

You would be surprised how many people, do not agree with your statements. I have some friends in NC who have never camped and think camping in this day-and-age it is a death sentence for someone my age (72) to go camping with my dogs.

Meanwhile they go to Costco at least once a week.

We have a major motor home dealership in our city, and he has a large rental lot where owners store their motorhomes. I went by there yesterday, and there were few motorhomes on the lot.

I understand all of our local state parks and federal park campgrounds are extremely busy. Instead of hanging around the house during a quarantine, RV'ers have decided to hit the road--even if it's just at local campgrounds.

If anyone is going to be hitting the road this Summer, they probably need to make reservations in campgrounds in order to find a place to stay. And let's face it that fresh air and camping is good for one's health.
