Frances McDormand is good in the movie about vandwelling. Bob Wells also has a part in the show. Worthwhile to see. I'm not going to say anything more and spoil the storyline.

I want to see it, but will have to wait till it comes out on DVD and get it from Netflix. Will not sign onto another streaming service just for one movie and I tried Hulu a year ago for a few months and cancelled.

But have read it is a good movie and McDormand is probably a great pick for the movie.

I've run into these so-called Nomads camping on Federal lands down in UT and one in WY, very interesting talking with them and why some are nomads.

I wouldn't call the movie a must see but for the adventuring types like most campers are, it is an interesting show. I don't think the movie will have broad appeal as many just can't fathom the lifestyle and have no interest in that type of movie

Previous Hulu user here - (re)signed up, and getting the first month free.

I thought it was great.

Fern - the main character - isn't doing it because she craves adventure. She's doing it because she thinks it's her best option.

Lots of folks in her shoes.

I wonder what percentage are want and need with vandwelling or similar rigs. Recessions sway the need percentages for sure.

I thought is was quite a beautiful movie. There's a sadness under it and over it, but it's just Fern's story so I'm not saying there's a sadness under nomad life in general. But it was a great look at the culture of nomadism, and really neat how it used so many real-life nomads in the cast. As for the character of Fern, even her sister said early in the story that there was always something "different" about her, and she's clearly super introverted and living as a nomad she finds of community of people who are similar or at least don't expect her to be otherwise. It's a kind story about how she finds a way to be alone, in her comfort zone, but working and being together with people in a different way.

Another benefit of being a nomad is when things and people get to you, you just drive off and start anew somewhere else. I think there a lot of people like Fern out there in that regard. Heck, I would be like that if I was nomadic..
