It raises up! That is so cool. My family had one when I was a kid and I distinctly remember the lack of headroom even for a little kid Great times though

Beautiful truck and camper. Wife and I were looking at something like that just before we had kids. Had just bought the truck in fact and were saving for the camper. Then along came our kids and you know where the camper money went after that.

Though we did spend a good bit of time camping when our son was in Scouts. He got his Eagle, but my back and knees paid a price all those years. And yes, as much work as that was, I'd love to do it all over again with him. I miss those years.

My mom bought a 'pop-top' Toyota Chinook ~1973. Very suitable for solo travel

I've had a few VW pop-top westies and AST's

Co-workers have bought new Ford cargo, as well as minivans and sent them to Canada for pop-top conversions.

BIL is avid outdoorsman who spends half the year in his pop-top camper. Nice, but not for me

Bedroll and motorcycle = very simple camping. (And occasionally very cold and wet camping). +/-
