I've never met anyone who has been that far north. Has anyone on city data been there? I run marathons & thought some year it would be a fun trip (unbelievably expensive!) and from the pictures I've seen, definitely looks interesting. For a city with a pretty small population, Yellowknife appears to have a nice little downtown/skyline going on.
I've wanted to move to Canada for 15 years and I'm hoping the job, my experience and a little luck comes my way in the next year or so. This question has nothing to do with cities, but how is the outlook for RN jobs in Canada? Would you suggest completing the program before moving or after (for those who know if there's much difference between the US nursing program and the Canadian one)?
I've not been but have a friend who lived there for many years. People in the populated parts of Canada talk about heavy winters but up there winter is serious business...
I believe that if you go to nursing school in the states you still have to pass the Canadian nursing exam. However, if you are a Canadian RN, many US states will give you a license without requiring you to take any additional exams.
As such, it seems beneficial to do the program in Canada unless you want to take two licensing exams.
