Given the percentages of total Asian population (17.7%) although it is presently a fast growing visible minority I don't believe that Canada is becoming Asian. But there's no doubt about it, Canada is definitely becoming more culturally/ethnically diverse. I'm okay with lots and lots of diversity, I think diversity is a very good thing for Canada in particular. Check out all of Canada's self-identified ethnic groups here, the diversity will blow you away - it's like a separate world within a world and I think that's fantastic:
You are not alone. I think the vast majority of Canadians are extremely fond of Asians.
Not just Asians..but all diversity. Just the food alone, is a wonderful thing.
I grew up around mostly Italians, we were Quebecois and Irish, but parents born in Quebec and Vancouver.
We had besides Italians, Chinese, Polish, German, Scottish, Indian, Egyptian, Greek, plus all the parents who were born in Canada, but their parents weren't so they still carried on certain traditions. Thinking of Russian descendant. There was even the nice lesbian couple up the street. No one ever referred to them such, just their names. They were well liked. It was a crazy mixed up neighbourhood of young families who all got along. We had parents and kids baseball games for example.
As a kid you don't think about it, but as an adult I can see how this shaped me.

Nice. I too was exposed to quite a bit of diversity as a child. That includes sexual divrsity. I had two childhood freinds that had gay parents. My Mother studied at NSCAD and there were always gay people around. I went to an art camp run by lesbians.
As far as ethnic or cultural diversity, I used to think it was great up until farily recently. I am not so big on it now. I actually think the whole idea of multiculturalism is a sham, specially when it favours certain groups.
