I try to get copies of everything, not only related to say, cancer, but anytime I go to the doctor: certainly lab results. Our doctors and our hospital often offer the paper work. I am also great at asking questios: then, of course there is my husband, who rarely asks the doctor anything..Sometimes he is good, but generally he just tries to listen and understand what they are saying, he has been known to get things a little mixed up because he doesn't ask enough and knows nothing about his body. We have had a few doctors who seem reluctent to offer much information and seem to busy to answer questins: when this happens, if it is possible we change doctors as fast as we can.
I get all lab results. I get all my scans/xrays on CD. I get all radiology reports. What I don't know I research and ask my Oncologist. I'm the nosiest patient ever!
