Chele123,
My Bi-rads score on the first mammogram from November 14, 2012 showed a "3 possibly 4" score? (I just went and found the report) I am not sure as I have not spoken to the Doctor yet, since the US was Yesterday. I know that this whole thing is freaking me out! I am not sure where to turn, I did not want to make to much noise if I was over exagerating...
The first test they said a possible cyst but know by the feel and size and US that it is NOT fluld filled. When I pressed the radilogist more on how it is a cyst but not fluid he said "it is a complez cyst" I asked what that meant and he said it was hard to explain!

Your Birads = suspicious. I'm glad you got an ultrasound. I don't know what a complex cyst is. There are many things it could be besides cancer. If you ultrasound is suspicious the next step will most likely be a biopsy.

You have to be your own advocate. Ask for all test results and reports. Keep them in one place and bring them with you to appointments. Use the internet to find explanations to what the reports/results mean. Be very proactive, be insistant, but above all - be nice. Nurses and doctors are only human and make mistakes too. I work in a hospital, not 20 feet from the lab, they KNOW me and yet, they still screw up and don't send my results to my oncologist. I have the results with me, and almost every single time my oncologists nurses get the results from me, not the other way around!

Fingers crossed it's not cancer!

Nothing has been done, my general Dr did say he thought I should see a breast surgeon but after many attempts I gave up in November/2012. I am worried as I can not understand how cysts grow, and if I should force them to do something.

Were you referred in November '12? It makes no sense to me! that if your PCP thought you needed to see a surgeon, that you did not have the appointment scheduled before you left his/her office!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trust me - cash money speaks as loud as insurance so get that out of your head - I'd be more upset with your PCP for not getting the referral set up. Seriously! I don't know you and I am appalled.

mm_mary73,
I do believe that someone dropped the ball at my Dr.s office. On Friday morning my Dr. did call and say he did not want me to wait for 6months, and gave me a few options, 1. was to wait (which is not an option) 2. Go see a surgeon or 3. they sent my films to a women they call the "mammo guru" to review and she would call me. She did call and said the Dr. that will decide what type of biopsy was not there until Tuesday, but she sees and I quote "two different extremely worrisome spots on my tests, the tumor that was there as well as another" :'( and the she is at a loss on why I have been blown off, but for me to NOT take any advil, alieve, or anything as of that moment. As they will get me in ASAP which according to the books will probably be a week from this Tuesday.
Although I choose option 3, This waiting game is killing me! I know it is only 9 days but that seems as though it is forever! Thinking positive thoughts! Thank you!

As a Male here will give my own family situation (background).

My late wife had a problem with her throat and would not see a MD and me argueing. Finally a test and she is gone in 6 months after a Surgery (8 Tumors).

Oldest daughter had breast Cancer (age 52) and passed away.

My mother had a double Mastectomy (cancer) and later died of Brain Cancer.

I have had Thyroid Cancer (Thyroidectomy) and continue to have these Nodules (under the skin) on my neck (two on each side) that were removed and now a 3rd on my right neck is getting larger under the skin and slightly painfull if squeezed. This is a telltale sign to call my VA provider at the Hospital (I'm age 81).

My MD always told me to hold off with a wait see thing while I pressured a need for removal which they did.

To the main point here. I have 4 grown Grandaughters now who are at that age where there might ne a Heredity factor to consider thus they have to be cautious....so should you...have the Biopsy and go from there.

Wish you well.

Cysts are often not cancerous, but there is only one way to know for sure, and that's to have them aspirated, and if necessary, biopsied. Have they not caused you any pain OP? I've had several removed, and they were always tender to the touch.

Micky I am so glad you are going to get this thing biopsied. I hope it comes out totally benign and boring.

Question Mattie

The radiologist notes said it is a complex cyst, completely solid! I have on occasion had a stabbing pain in the area but it is not often. It is not tender to the touch at all.
