Consumption of soy, fruits, and vegetables helps reduce the risk of developing breast cancer, according to a new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Postmenopausal women who consumed plenty of soy, fruits, and vegetables had a 30 percent lower risk of developing breast cancer, compared with those who consumed relatively little of these foods.
The majority of soy in this country is genetically modified and has not been tested for effects of consumption over a long period of time. I would certainly NOT recommend that anyone eat anything that is genetically modified.
I also had a friend who ate soy and soy milk all the time. Then, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in her late thirties and died three years later. She then found out that she should not have eaten soy as it was not recommended for the kind of breast cancer she had.
