Hey everyone,

Need some advice. Sancho hasn't eaten or drank anything in the last 24 hours. He's gotten lathargic and thrown up a couple of times. I'm afraid he's eaten something that has made hims sick whether it's the pieces of fake Christmas tree he likes to chew or the recent anti-chew spray I just put on the fake tree yesterday afternoon. He didn't really become really lathargic until this afternoon, though the throw up has happened starting Saturday.

Any thoughts today?

I am afraid I may have to set up an appointment to the vet though that worries me. I don't have a lot of money left for this month and I have no credit cards to use if we get a large vet bill. Have you had experience with payment plans at the vet???

Please send encouragement, I'm really anxious about this.

Take him to the vet. He's a family member and money should not stand before love.
Bless you, I know how hard it is. Last year I lost my baby girl wanting for payday. She was one of the first to be effected by that tainted catfood .

I have been there and getting him to the vet is the best solution, it could be something simple but they can give him fluids, something for his tummy etc and hopefully you will get piece of mind.

Best of luck!

My previous old girl (may she rest in peace) got into Lantana, highly toxic to cats. She started frothing at the mouth and weaving back and forth. So rushed her to the hospital, four days later with a bill of $600!! I was allowed thankfully to make payments. She survived! It may be a big bill for you so they certainly should let you make payments. I went to the petstore and got a book on the toxic plants to cats and got rid of some of my plants. Good luck to you and your baby!!

If you need help with vet bills you can go to http://www.carecredit.com and sign up for one of their programs. Select veterinary from the drop down box & put in your zip code. A list of vets in your area who participate will come up. Not drinking for an extended amount of time is very unhealthy for a cat.

That's my biggest fear is the fact he isn't drinking. Especially here in this valley where it's very dry all the time and he's usually a big drinker.

Ok, I've just talked to the boys at home and I think Chris intervened on Sancho eating because he was liking his chops when he turned the corner and jumped up on the tall cat tower. This is good news! He wouldn't eat before nor would he do anything that took energy like jumping up on something high. I was having a panic attack here at work worrying over this.

So, I have Chris monitoring him the rest of the day. If he throws up again, I know there's something that might be blocking and I'll take him right away. I've alreayd called his current vet which is on the other side of the valley and a vet near us that I got threw Evey's suggested site Carecredit.com. (Though I don't think I can apply for any card since I"m on a credit debt program. Hence, my financial worries there about vet bills. ) So, I know both vets have openings this afternoon and evenings if I need to make an appointment. So, we are going to monitor him for another few hours before I make a judgement.

Keep your paws crossed!

Maybe he got into something that just made his stomach sour? If he's perking up again, then you can probably hold off on the vet visit. I would just continue to monitor hour-by-hour and see if he improves.

Update today, for those who care:

And this will be a funny update for you....

He pooped the green fake tree stuff out! Phew! Poor little guy, we agreed that he was probably in some discomfort the other night which is why he wasn't so active. he's back to being himself tail up and meowing. His appetite wasn't quick back to it's original last night, but he ate. Today, he's catching up for lost time! Gosh!

So, let this thread be an example that the little fake tree pieces can be passed!
