We missed you, NK! So good to hear from you, and so good to hear your kitties are giving you attention and comfort. Dr. Kitty to the rescue. Here's hoping your recovery continues to go well and you become mobile again soon!

Thank you friends for such kind comments. It is great to be back.
The cats are very friendly but I am having a problem. We ordered a new bed before my fall. It is 29 inches tall. When I was gone the cats managed to hop up and sleep all night with my husband. But now I'm sleeping in it alone and they haven't come to see me in the bed.

They are almost 16 years old and I'm really surprised they can jump up that high but apparently they did. I'm thinking of putting a chair close to the bed hoping that will help them. Funny thing is they are sleeping in the living room and not going to my husband in the guest room. What's going on? I have no medicines or cream or anything which might be putting them off. I don't sleep with my boots on either.

Your cats were not the only ones missing you, we did too. Cats (and dogs too) have a 6th sense about when we aren't well. They seem to want to make us feel better.

Glad you are home and mending. Those Doctors and Nurses with fur are the best medicine ever.

Maybe they are afraid they will jump on your leg and hurt you? And maybe they were just keeping your husband company while you were gone.

I bet they gave you quite a "cat scan" when you got home. Lol

Good to have you back, my friend.... and wishing you a speedy recovery.

I had to do the same thing for my girls. My beds is quite high too, and they were struggling to get up there. I put an old padded foot stool at the end of the bed. Problem solved.

As for them not sleeping with you, give them time and I'll bet they will be. You were gone a long time, and sometimes when a cat's routine is suddenly changed (you going in the hospital) and they change to adapt, it can take a while for them to change back. But making it easier for them to climb up there might speed things up a bit. Hope so, anyway.

Sorry to hear about this. You're in luck though, kitty love is the best medicine for a speedy recovery!

Real talk, be careful with pain medication. Two broken legs, I'm guessing they probably prescribed you potent stuff.
