We have a male cat about 11 months old, and he has two bare patches on his back legs. They aren't red, or scabby, and he doesn't pick at them at all, they are just there. Wondering what it might be. They have been there for a few months, and haven't really changed at all.



We have lots of hardwood floors, and when we're playing, he'll slide around a lot, but from watching him, it doesn't seem like he slides on that part of his feet/legs.

I noticed the same thing on my cat. It never seemed irritated or painful in any way. I determined it was from when he sat, that part of his leg is what made contact on the floor (and it was bony). I think it just wore the fur off. It caught me off guard when I first noticed it. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Probably just contact spots - like the flat bald spot you get on the back of your head from leaning against the back of the chair for too long.

OK, thanks. That is what I thought, but I wanted to double check.
