I realize most people here, on this board, don't believe that... but for those that do... this little clip breaks my heart ...

YouTube - Cat gives a cardiac massage to his injured girlfriend

this poor guy is trying to help his friend, who was hit by a car and is dying.

What kind of cold hearted SOB stood there and just filmed that rather then taking the poor cat to get some vet care...

I know, that is what I am wondering. They claim that someone tried to get close to the cat, but the cat wouldn't "let" them... I don't see any of that on this film. Seeing this reminds me why I prefer my cats to a lot of "humans".

Why is this posted here? Isn't there a better example of cats having feelings that doesn't involve one that is dying? Why would someone post that on a forum of known animal lovers?!

Well, there are lots of people that do not believe that animals have feelings - some of them post here at times. It is pretty clear what the clip is about, it isn't graphic or gory, death is part of life, it happens every day to so many, so it up to the individual to view or choose not to view. I saw this posted on a cat rescue website... which obviously caters to animal lovers.

That is heartbreaking. I watched the first minute of it, but that was all I wanted to see.

I watched the whole video. Of course it's sad, but it's also very touching. Cats are apt to show deep emotion in certain situations. Heck, and I've just watched "The Cove" (a documentary about the Japanese dolphin massacres), so I'm almost contemplating becoming an animal activist!

I've avoided seeing the Cove. Based on what I've read about it, I think it's just too much for me to watch.

The video posted here was just heart-breaking. I have cats, so I have no doubts about whether they have feelings.

I saw "The Cove" recently too......!!! I couldn't watch the whole cat video because it made me cry right away...reminded me too much of how sad and bewildered my Harley was after her brother crossed over a couple of years ago...he wasn't hit by a car (it was liver failure) but she was beyond depressed without him. Wouldn't leave the spot they used to nap together on the bed, and would yowl...it was gutwrenching!!!
