I was not expecting this... figured he'd do the up to 7 yrs he was supposedly going to get and then fade into obscurity.
He knew he'd probably get the *%$# beat out of him in prison on a daily basis. Between being a celeb and being into kiddie p0rn, he might as well have a target painted on his forehead.
Even if he could make it through prison, he owes each victim 50k and had no chance of being employable again.
He did the right thing for himself and the taxpayers. Good riddance.
I hate how the "tributes" lump him with Cory. "2 gone too soon" Drug addiction isn't comparable to having 50k images of kids and traveling to known child prostitution countries.
The one thing that I didn't understand about his case is that if he had to pay each victim, that means they'd have to be identified and that could logically lead to the producers of the images. However, idr reading that his arrest led to a bunch of pornographers being arrested.

There is.. Now, this is going to sound odd.. But there are a group of people who were victimized and have made themselves known to prosecutors.. Anytime someone is caught with a child porn image of them, they will file a civil suit for damages.
Sometimes, they'll lump that in with the criminal case as restitution to head off the multiple court cases.
There's one girl I read about that is like making her living off this. As I recall from the story, her father was military, or a cop.. Something to do with authority, and started abusing her and taking photos of it when she was 10 or so.
I'm not overly sure how I feel about that. I mean, at the end of the day, the person who took the images is the responsible party.. To me, it's a bit of a stretch to say anyone who viewed the image owes her money.
As for prosecutions.. My understanding is that much that is out there is stuff that has been around for years and years. You read stories here and there about someone being arrested for creating it, and you see the occasional FBI plea for information where they've identified something unique in a photo, like a tattoo or something in the background of an image. Then, of course, there's the whole thing of where was it created? You've got the entire world to search.. So, I assume that it's probably difficult to track down the origination of an image. Of course, tell that to the 4chan or reddit people who keep getting Shia Labouf's flags..
This is how far out of touch with reality celebrities are.
His co-star posts a 'heartbreaking tribute' to this guy, the same guy that had countless images of child pornography on his computer (including 3 year olds).
suicide is so tragic for the loved ones. i feel so sad for his family.
Do you feel sad for his victims?
As a CA resident, he just saved the taxpayers some money.
