Many years ago, possibly someone else here will remember, Latoya spoke out about Joe Jacksons abuse. There may have even been a book??
As I remember she was estranged from the family for a while over the controversy it caused.

I remember it. She was married to a guy, at the time, the family didn't like and he was pretty controlling. Therefore no one took her allegations seriously. Most people thought the husband put her up to saying the things she said.
They could be true for all I know.
Joseph Jackson is evil personified. And while a lot has been said about him being a bad father-I haven't seen anyone say Katherine is a bad mother. Let me just say that I would die defending my children from my husband, their dad, anyone! She,in some ways, is as guilty as Joe for not stepping in and stopping it.
I think at one point she up and left and returned to her hometown in Alabama-but she didn't take the kids with her!!--WTF?? What mother does that? Oh well........

Agree, why would she leave the kids with him knowing he was abusive. It's amazing how much power an abusive man like himself can have over an entire family, including his wife.

That is disqusting. I can't believe his father is so heartless. His son died and he is more worried about the spotlight on him

If I remember correctly, although LaToya was the whistle-blower, there was speculation that she was taking marching orders from her husband, because he was hungry for some of that money. Around the same time, LaToya accused MJ of being a pedafile---this was during the 1993 case, and she was going to sell her story to some tabloids, but once they heard her story, it was some drummed up tale that her husband put her up to for the $$$---soon thereafter,LaToya went to live overseas for a while to distance herself from her family. Amazingly, MJ forgave her somewhere around 2000.

I find it disturbing that Katherine was a silent partner in Joe's abuse towards the children. That would be my only concern. We see from the will that MJ was smart enough to cut out the people he didn't feel deserved as much. Of course, we don't know who comprises the Jackson Family Trust, but I heard it was 3 nephews, 2 or 3 cousins, and of course Katherine and the children.

I'm surprised that he could even walk. Regardless of how you feel about the man, somebody needs to be held accountable for this. I know he bears responsibility as well, but I believe his handlers were just in it for the money and kept him pumped up on drugs all of these years.

He seemed pretty healthy in his last video. What a ruse.

Default Michael Jackson's Health

If MJ was an actual child and not simply child-like, this would be a murder investigation. When someone is this ill, mentally and physically, shouldn't the family tried some sort of intervention. And why was AEG entertainment trying to get no less than fifty concerts out of him? (AEG is a ruthless company ask anyone from New Orleans how it shut the local citizens out of the Jazz and Heritage Festival but that's another rant) To me it seems MJ was desperately needed to earn money for whatever reason and AEG had a Doctor under contractor to them give MJ a clean bill of health. This is just my speculative opinion, but AEG and others should be ashamed for being such proud parasites.

Several commentators have said that Jackson passed an extensive physical for the insurance company.

I also read that the he was insured for death by drug overdose but not for death by natural causes.

This is potentially so complicated that I cannot imagine the corrupt twists and turns by all involved.

Well, I can speak from experience that at 50....your body isn't what it was at 21. That doesn't mean he was in bad shape, just not the best shape of his life. Years of narcotics (even for medical use) is bound to take an additional toll on any human body.

I thought he looked extremely fit and agile on the videos that had just been taken of him dancing.
