Anyone remember The North and The South? My mom adored him in that mini-series. And in Dirty Dancing, she just loved the way he danced! It's funny, the things we remember when a celebrity passes, because we make memories to share with loved ones while watching them in their roles. RIP Patrick Swayze; as others have said, you truly were a class act.
RIP...I hope your wife has the strength to carry on without you. Roadhouse was our favorite as well. You will never be forgotten. Your pain is over...now we have the pain of losing you way to soon.
I was sad to hear this too...after losing my grandmother to this awful cancer six and a half months ago, it was refreshing to hear that he was pulling through so well recently. Pancreatic cancer is like that though--a thief in the night. His family and friends are in my prayers. Another one of my childhood crushes is gone...may he rest in peace!
The SNL skit with him and Chris Farley portraying dancers competing for a Chippendale's job is one of the funniest things I have ever seen on TV. And Ghost was a great movie. But I especially admire how he stayed so devoted to his childhood sweetheart and wife of nearly 35 years. That doesn't happen much in Hollywood these days. May he RIP, and may his family and friends be comforted by warm memories of a special man.
