No, it does not . But what it does do, is provide relevant information, with a source, as it pertains to the topic of this thread.

When you form an strong argument, especially in threads that require you to compare, what you said ^ above, is the key ingredrient to forming a strong argument. However, the exception in what you said was, "they don't understand".

When forming a strong argument, some of the things you'll need:

1. Claim - Your opinion, or conclusion, which must be supported by evidence within your argument.

2. Grounds - Evidence, or any information that will support your claim.

3. Warrant - Connects, or relates the grounds to the claim.

"In a blockbuster mobile deal, AT&T announced today it had agreed to acquire T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom for $39 billion.

T-Mobiles coverage is the worst out of the Big 4 and even if they combine with AT&T, their coverage is still less than Verizon and Sprint. Also AT&T and T-Mobile subscribers will bail. T-Mobile customers will see an increase in rates eventually and people flat out hate AT&T. So even though they will have the most subscribers, that will drop off.
Now that VZW has the IPHONE, there is no way people stay. Lots of people ONLY went to AT&T for the Iphone but dealt with their horrible customer service. Now they don't have to anymore.

That's debatable. Here's three reasons why.

T-Mobile, being a much smaller carrier, doesn't get as many exclusives on top-line phones, and it doesn't have the iPhone. On the other hand, AT&T is the industry leader in smartphones and integrated devices. With AT&T, T-Mobile customers will have more choices and gain access to the industry leading smartphone line-up.

In the last 10 years, there were 27 mergers/buyouts. However, wireless service prices continued to decline, by 50%.

"The competitiveness of the market has directly benefited consumers. A 2010 report from the US General Accounting Office (GAO) states the overall average price (adjusted for inflation) for wireless services declined 50 percent from 1999 to 2009, during a period which saw five major wireless mergers."

That's debatable too.

* AT&T iPhone 4 is twice as fast as the Verizon iPhone 4.

"download speeds through AT&T reached a maximum of 3.57 Mbps versus a maximum of 1.32 Mbps on Verizon. The margin for uploads was similar, with AT&T’s upload speed reaching 1.39 Mbps vs a peak of 0.54 MBps uploading through Verizon"

I disagree. I have used Verizon custmer service several times and have nothing but good to say about how they were handled. They and discover card customer service have been the best I have dealt with.

Here is CNET's tests of the Verizon iPhone 4 vs the AT&T iPhone 4:

Notice that the Verizon version beats out the AT&T in nearly every test! These tests are also in "real world" setups, like a parking garage, a busy downtown financial area, and residential spots.

As far as higher service prices go:

Enough links and quotes for you?? This deal is a BAD deal for T-Mobile customers. Here in S. Texas, there are ALOT of complaints about AT&T's lousy coverage. T-Mobile's was even worse. I just left T-Mobile, and went to Verizon, and have the iPhone 4 now. SOOO much better than the constant dropped calls I was getting, the EDGE network just about everywhere (now have constant 3G with speeds averaging at about 2.8mbits).

The thing is, Stephen, you can sensationalize all you want about AT&T... the bottom dollar is, that AT&T has dragged its feet at getting up to snuff with the rest of the carriers on its innovation and customer service. I do hope they can do something with this merger, and expand their network like they promised (oh, so many promises!!). I am, for one, not going back on the GSM bandwagon, though!

Stephen works for AT&T and will spew all the AT&T propoganda (not facts). My mother in law has T-Mobile and she is afraid too. T-Mobile was a budget priced carrier and eventually that will end now due to the merger. If Sprint keeps losing customers don't be surprised if you see them merge with Verizon. Then what? Verizon and AT&T as the only 2 major carriers? The fact that there were choices kept prices down. It's kind of like when you see one gas station next to another with the same price. They can charge as much as they want as long as they're the same. If you look now, Verizon and AT&T are almost identical in price. The difference is the coverage and that Verizon's customer service is well liked while AT&T's is not. Even if Verizon didn't have the IPhone, people still wanted out from AT&T but now there is one less reason to stay.
