When it rains? That seems a little *too* protective... what's the point of a mobile phone if you don't take it with you?
If I have any reason to believe that the phone might get wet, I don't take it outside. Nothing wrong leaving it in the car if I am away from home. Ask yourself, "Is the risk of getting it wet worth it to you ?"

The answer would be "yes" - they aren't made of sugar

Maybe not made of sugar, but can easily be turned into an expensive paperweight if it gets we. If you must take it outside when it might get wet, the Ziploc bag method works best (and very economically).
I often put pieces of paper in my shirt pocket.
If the circumstances were that I'd worry that such would get wet, then I'd move them (and my phone) to my pants pocket.
If I'm playing at the pool or lake, and there's a chance I might fall, (or get pushed <grin> in), then I take along a sandwich ziplock bag for my phone, wallet, and keys.
My 5s is in a Ballistic case in my shirt/jacket front pocket.
Short of dropping it in a puddle there is no way it's getting any water damage. Our rain here isn't like rain in most places... here it's more like a tropical mist.
Some serious dorks on here putting their pones in plastic baggies.
Be nice now.
BTW: what is a pone ??
