Well, your third grade crush might send you a text message out of the blue telling you that her aunt that you never met bought a tree farm and that her front lawn has grass. Or, you know, you might miss that invite to some dudes BBQ that you never met, even though there are thousands of other means to communicate with each other. And don't even get me started on those crucial Facebook updates that must be read right the eff NOW!

Well, when I moved to Boston, I got rid of my car. Having to rely on public transportation, a bike, or my own feet; my backpack was my storage device. I had Zip Loc bags of all shapes for everything in my bag, including my laptop.
As an aside, I once went kayaking and put my top-o-the-line Android phone into not only one, but two Zip Loc bags. Then stashed the bag into a vest pocket. It was dead when I retrieved it, but the bag was barely wet. I had another phone that I dropped into the toilet, twice, and it continued to work like a charm. Another phone by the same manufacturer was, and is, used in drizzle/rain, albeit briefly, and even though it gets a heck of a lot more wet than that Android, it keeps on tickin'.
