Could this be a new idea or already existing? Is there a smartphone with a projector install in it which we could watch movies on it sd memory card projected on a wall or plain surfaces instead of watching it from the screen of the phone? It would be working in such a way that you will have an option to watch the movie on the phone screen or through projector.

With an iPhone and an Apple TV you could do something similar, AirPlay the iPhone screen to the Apple TV and hook up the Apple TV to the projector. I have set this up for folks at my office.

No. I want a smartphone that will be able to do that on it own without attaching it to other devices. The projector lens will be somewhere at one of it edges, just press one or two buttons on the phone then watch your desire movie on the plain surface.

Pizza Hut made a pizza box with a lens that you stick your phone inside. Of course, it looks like crap.

Power usage and thermal issues make the idea of building an actual projector into the phone impractical.

The iPhone has had that for years, but only as an add-on accessory case.

These articles are 3 and 4 years old, respectively. I'm sure better stuff is available by now, so in theory you could just build these cases into the phone, but there has to be enough demand and that means the designer needs to make the phone aesthetic enough and the costs have to come down.

This is like asking for a keyring-type flashlight with one 'hearing-aid' type battery to shine bright enough to illuminate your entire house from the street for several hours. Considering the power stored in the battery, you're probably only going to be able to see a part of your shoe, for 30 minutes.

The battery in a cell phone typically lasts a day, with the battery powering a few phone calls, the WiFi standby, maybe downloading some email. That power is tiny compared to the lamp (and speakers?) it would have to power for a projected signal.

This is why you'll rarely see a battery powered projector, even the new LED's, (which require much less power than one with an incandescent bulb), still need to shine the image and push out an audio signal.

Example: I use my phone's GPS to navigate, every time I drive around (for directions and traffic reporting). I found it drains the phone entirely in less than 20 minutes! (The battery drains quickly with the continuous display, downloading map data and the occasional verbal directions). So I had to run a hard-wired power connection to a docking clamp, to power it all the time.
