Yeah;after some research; in my own opinion I found Windows to be heck better compared to Android except for the few quirks of less apps but who needs so many apps anyway? (expression)

Uh.. most of the press aren't anti-Windows phone.

Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 review - Engadget

My problem with WinPhone is there just aren't enough different models. What are there, like 3 out now? 1 or 2 available on Verizon? They need more manufacturers on board and fast.

That's certainly part of the problem. The focus has been heavily on low to mid range devices.

Apps are also still a problem. It's not a question of number of apps, which is frankly irrelevant since the vast majority of apps on any given store are complete garbage that you'd never have any interest in. The problem I had with WP was there were always apps I actually needed that weren't available. With iOS and Android, I'm pretty much guaranteed that the app I want will at least exist. With WP, it's a crapshoot.

I like Windows phone.
You can buy a Nokia Lumia 1520 on EBay for under $200.
It is a two year old phone, but far from "basic."

I had 3 Android phones, and greatly prefer Windows.
I'll have a Cityman, 940XL when it is available.

My wife had a basic Windows phone, a Nokia Lumia 920.
I just got her an HTC 1 M8.
it was a flagship 18 months ago. Great phone. She loved her 920, and likes the HTC phone.
Prefers either over Android.

We have plenty of apps for our needs.

That's just common sense.
When there were only 50,000 apps on Android there was a lot less crap, too. Wait until (or if) MS crosses the million app threshold and watch what happens.

With Android you have to hit publish for it to work without much testing
With Windows; there is some adequate testing before publishing
See where crap lies

Which means nothing. There are still a ton of bad apps in the Apple store. And there will be a ton in the Windows one as soon as more people start developing for it. The amount of testing required has zero to do with bad apps being released.

Certainly no reason to choose one OS over another.
