Who has the best unlimited data plans?

Can you buy them by themselves (no talk)?

And, can you use VOIP on them?

T-mobile offers unlimited talk, text, and data for 79.99 right now.

That, hands down, beats everyone elses data rates. Sure, Sprint offers a unlimited everything plan for 99.99, but its Sprint, and no one likes them.

I don't know how good the service is, but AT&T has data-only plans starting at $35.00/month. Get Started - Wireless from AT&T

sprint is a much better service provider than tmobile, with better phones. awful customer service aside..

anyway, this is a pretty good comparison of what phone companies are offering:

Plan, but not service.

Sprint has the worst service in the cellular industry. Thats why they aren't projected to add any new customers for the next three years.

^no new customers for three years?? they've added plenty of new customers with the sales of the palm pre and the hero, and will continue to do so with the upcoming webOS and android phones for 2010. i know a few people waiting for their att contracts to end so they can get that 69.99 unlimited voice plan.

Thats GROSS adds, not NET adds.

Their Gross adds have been fine, the problem is, they loose more customers then they take in. Thats called Net adds, adds after losses.

T-mobile turned its adds around last year, we gained more customers than we lost, Verizon never had a problem, and ATT got theirs back two years ago.

Sprint is forcasted to loose more customers over the next two years, then it actually takes in.

Sprint, in a word, sucks. Their service sucks, their customer relations suck, and their network sucks. Just like any carrier, they have strong points, and low points, but its generally regarded as the worst cellular carrier in the states.

Hell, they don't even have their own engineering employees anymore, they hired contractors to do that job. What does that tell you about the company? They can't hire anyone who cares about the company, because they suck.

That would be me

Except I'm canceling two contracts on AT&T and getting the unlimited data and text family plans with Sprint.

Hey, can you go ahead and pop in some links to substantiate your claims? I used Sprint for a number of years and never had service problems. From Dallas to LA to DC to Tampa to NYC... none.

So, maybe you had a lousy phone or something?

I have worked with AT*T cell support and hey, they've got come real complaints.
