I was wondering if anyone might be able to recommend a restaurant for my husband and I to dine at for our anniversary next week. We aren't from Charleston, so we don't really know what is good other than looking at Urbanspoon. We were going to go Peninsula Grill, but it required a sport coat for men in the reservation, and my husband didn't pack on with him, and I hate to buy one just for one night. We do have dress clothes, just nothing quite that dressy.

Any recommendations of places to eat in general would be great as well. We are in town a couple of weeks (well in North Charleston, but wanting to go to Charleston) as my husband is in the military and here for training. Thanks so much

I like this place. It isn't a quiet romantic place -- but the food was great
About Hank's Seafood Restaurant, Fish, She Crab Soup, Fried Seafood, Oysters

S.N.O.B. -- Slight North of Broad

82 Queen

Any of those would be safe bets -- and I will bet you will get lots more suggestions -- we all have our faves.

I would recommend High Cotton on East Bay, if you make a reservation no jacket rerquired.

Happy Anniversary!

I see that others have thrown out some recommendations but I have a few questions?

1.) How many years?
2.) What are your favorite foods?
3.) What is your price range?

1.) 3 years
2.) Steak, seafood, southern foods, and Mexican(but don't want to do that for anniversary)
3.) Don't really have a price range, willing to splurge for the night.

McCrady's has great food and awesome steak! The Mistrel is French, but love the atmosphere and the food. 82 Queen is top notch for anniversary romance in my opinion.

Best steaks in town are at the Oak on Broad St...

Then Dessert at Kaminsky's on the Market...

Congratulations....

I'm a huge fan of Magnolia's on East Bay. Tell 'em it's your anniversary when you make a reservation. Casual dress, but superb service and food.

Mistrel is closed; I noticed someone mentioned that above.

S.N.O.B.
Hank's Seafood
Il Cortile del Rey (italian)
Oak Steakhouse
17 North (pretty far out in Mt. Pleasant, but worth it!)
