There is always the aquarium, not sure of the cost of that but I am sure it is on the website.

Something really fun for the kids (and adults) is to visit Cupcake, it is just dang yummO!

I agree, the water parks are a fun and inexpensive place to take the little ones. However, I would suggest the water park at Mount Pleasant instead, only because the entire water park is designed for little ones, so the teenagers tend to stay away. It's several dollars cheaper too, because it doesn't have the big kid rides. Splash Island Waterpark

The waterpark on James Island is also mostly for smaller children. They only have 2 slides that are larger and the lifeguards won't let smaller children on. I am there with my grandson often and I would say 90 % of the patrons are parents with children under 12. It is very comparable to the one in Mt. Pleasant. The one in North Charleston is geared for bigger kids and there are many teens there.

viva, I'm enjoying you enjoying. Thanks.
You say you drove through some plantations while lost. Please don't be fooled as we were: plain old subdivisions are named "plantation" down here. You really can't just drive through the historic plantations -- they cost!
Keep posting & enjoying.

Lol good to know!! In that case maybe we will actually ask about them today and obtain some directions. I bought some clams last night and steamed em myself! I love James island. What's Johns island? Anything worth driving to? Where's a good frozen yogurt place also? Thanks everyone!
