Dear friends,
I am writing to you with some need requests to support our ministry. I am the founder of The Nehemiah House, a 501c3 non-profit organization. This ministry was founded to house men who are homeless having been recently released from prison. We opened our first shelter years ago and today, are closing on a 2nd house which, by the grace of God, will be open in August.
Our first home is located on Commander Road in North Charleston and our newest home is on Dorchester Road in North Charleston with the capacity to house 14 men. We not only provide a place to sleep, but employment help, educational guidance and Pastoral counseling. When these men are released, the courts often times have restrictions on where they can live. Sometimes, they find themselves free, but alone. Family and friends abandon them and they feel they have no choice but to reoffend in order to support themselves.
They have choices, but in many cases they don’t think they do. Our mission is to repair broken lives.
Because we do not receive federal funding, our ministry can survive only by my personal funds and outside donations. I am not rich and struggle for the monthly expenses to be paid.
