Hello,

Can someone please tell me what the work commute would be like (how long, traffic, stress...) from living in Park West to working at Charleston AFB. It would be done during typical commute hours...7am and 4pm. Thank you.

This morning, it took about 35 minutes from the Park West area to the 526/26 interchange a mile from the airport. Good bit of construction and fog this morning at 7am likely caused that time to ramp up a bit.

Coming home at that time can be pretty ugly though, especially once you hit Mount Pleasant. My husband drives essentially that same route every day, but he works about 16 hours a day, so he never sees "typical" commute times. On occasions where I visit him at work I always take Clements Ferry Road to highway 41 coming back home and skip nearly all that afternoon mess. Driving in off hours takes him about 20 to 25 minutes from Charleston National, which is right across the highway from Park West.

I would like to know as well. If i get to stay at Charleston(retraining) we want to move out there from goose creek.

From a few people i heard that live closer in Belle Hall the traffic is opposite when going towards base everyone is going away. I have notice the part we want to move in takes a good 12-15 mins just to get to front of the neighborhood.

If all else fails go to gym before work so leave at 515ish?? and should be a easy commute which is what i did anyways. Made my commute about 15 mins compared to 35 leaving at 610 form goose creek.
