Hello everyone, first time poster here. After months of debating I have decided to take the plunge and come down south to live. I'm done with the cold winters, although this was a mild one, and ready to stay warm and enjoy the beach/ocean. The places I'm interested in are the Goose Creek and Summervile areas and I see a few houses I like but I'm not sure of the subdivisions they are in. One in particular is in the Meadowbrook subdivision of Summerville, I couldn't find any posts or info on it. If anyone is familiar with this area could you please leave some feedback on it? Mainly is it a safe area or not and how would the daily commute into Charleston be. Thank you.

Ok, after finding a subdivision map it appears this Meadowbrook area isn't marked although that's what it is listed as on the realtors website. Anyway, to be more specific it's the area between these four roads: Lincolnville Rd, Route 78, Von Ohnsen Rd, and Berlin G Meyers Parkway. Any Information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Meadowbrook is an older, ranch style neighborhood just a few blocks off Main street Summerville. There is currently only one listing available (111 Robin at $59,900), the rest are under contract as short sales, pending bank approval. I can't speak as to the neighborhood's safety, I'd recommend checking with the Summerville Police Department, at Summerville Police Department 843.871.2463.

If that is the area I am thinking of it is an older area that is kind of in disrepair...

So;
If you're still interested in Meadowbrook...Since my hubby and I live here, I can give you some info...
Yes, this is an older subdivision. Our house was built in 1964. No sidewalks. No home owners association. Lots of children!
In our 8 years here, we've never experienced any issues here.
We'e about 5 minutes from downtown Summerville. Nice walk!

I think you're 3 years too late on this one (2012!)....
