What are some of the names of good classic rock cover bands that play in the area? Some examples of the covers would be AC/DC, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, GNR, Van Halen, Rolling Stones, anything from the 70's and 80's. I checked the Charleston paper but couldn't find much.

The paper should have pretty much everything that would be of interest. Check Thursday's papers for the entertainment insert. They're VERY thorough with live music and events.

The bands also rotate around. If you find some you like, they'll likely be back. City paper has extensive listings.

Dante's Camaro puts on a great show. I've seen them a few times at The Sparrow in Park Circle. Best Cover band I've seen in a while. Here is a link to their facebook page.

Is Jack, aka The Southern Avenger, back with them, he had taken a job in DC a year or so ago?

FYI, they're still together. They just emailed me on Facebook. I don't know about Jack though.
