Roxanne, Red's is ok in the afternoons. I have been to Red's several times in the middle of the afternoon and it hasn't been crowded at all. I hate going to restaurants that are really crowded with a lot of drunk people.
I have noticed that you seem okay with a few drunk people

I prefer it if the people around me are drunk.
I googled pics of the street fair I mentioned in another thread this evening and was horrified by the huge crowds of people. No way would I enjoy that now. When did I become such an old woman???

We've tried to go in twice and I was turned off by the raucous crowds both times, but I also recognize that our timing was bad, too.

Because you like what you like? I enjoy crowds, but I don't wish to engage. I drink in the energy generated and enjoy others laughter and fun. It's okay to not like crowds, there are things to enjoy even from the sidelines. You seem pretty lively in a small group
You're right. Shows how much we go to Shem Creek. Nothing appeals to us down there. Tried Vickery's twice...only reason we went on the second trip was because friends wanted to meet us there. Not our favorite for sure.
