I tried it at Hyman's (downtown, meeting street). it was served cold, scooped on a plate. Not quite what I was expecting (thought it would be warm, in a bowl like they serve in Annapolis) but it was OK. If you find some good dip report back!
Yeah, finding hot crab dip like in Maryland is rare in SC. Try the above recommendations. I'm way too busy to franchise another Shymansky's Seafood Restaurant, but if I do, it'll have steamed crabs (by the dozen and all-u-can eat) and hot crab dip.
We've tried up here, but can't get decent blue crab. Is there any good ones that can be bought at the store? I've had the cold dip from Costco and it wasn't terrible.
my sister makes the best on the east coast, doubt she'd invite everyone though... lol
no one does seafood like we do at home, we're always disappointed everywhere else we go...
get u a good ole southern recipe and try your hand at making it!
That is one reason why I only buy fried oysters out; I won't fry at home. I do prefer to cook my seafood at home, as well. I've never tried to make a crab dip...I probably should. My taste is more geared toward New England seafood. I typically make seafood at home once a week...lobster, steamers or scallops.
Does she start with live crab or does she buy picked or frozen crab?
