I doubt too many people in Charleston have spent much time in Mobile but I might be getting a job there and I am wondering if anybody can share any thoughts. Since they are both coastal and historic cities I figured they are probably fairly similar. Thanks for any thoughts.
I don't know a ton about Mobile, but I do know that its historic district isn't close to the size of Charleston's and it also razed some of its historic urban fabric. Charleston is definitely the larger and faster-growing metro of the two. But they both have their similarities, being historic coastal port cities and each now has a large aerospace company that calls the city home: Boeing in Charleston and Airbus in Mobile. Mobile had a cruise port at one time, like Charleston, but it is now closed. Both have medical schools.
I'm interested if you made the move to Mobile and how you like it? I'm considering a move to Mobile and wondering if the traffic is better or worse than the Charleston area.
