They may be of good character, but they can keep their good character and junk cars elsewhere not next to me. Good character doesn't improve my resell values, but junk cars definitely lowers them.
It's all strictly business so try not to read too much into HOA's and over generalize the people who are ok with living within established rules. Being a jerk is making one's neighbors look like they live in a dumpy neighborhood because somebody doesn't want to maintain their yard.

I know that, I've seen it. I like the fences in Bridgewater, they are normal 6 ft. privacy fences. Nice.

I agree with you Cajun. In my property on James Island (townhome I own and rent out), they sent me a ltter asking that the tenants to take the "To the Beach" sign off the front door!
I just ignored the Hoa....
