Because I'm a newbie to the Charleston area, am already concerned about a few traffic/street hazards that I've encountered. I would appreciate if the forum would weigh-in on the intersections, streets, etc, to be aware of. Have found the intersection of I-26 & Ashley Phosphate to be problematic, particularly when exiting the ramp at I-26, turning left onto Ashley Phosphate. Yikes! It looked like the lane markings just "disappeared".
Wait until you encounter a driver stopped to the right of you at a traffic light who cuts in front of your vehicle and makes a U-Turn. First time I experienced this, I thought it was a crazy person, but it has happened more than once.
Another thing I notice is people parking the wrong way on local streets.
Definately need to be a defensive driver around here!

Welcome to Charleston. Which streets should you be concerned about... all of them.
Before I moved here I witnessed one maybe two traffic accidents in my life (actually seen the accident happen). This past year I've seen a car flip, numerous cars get rear-ended at lights, a car turn into another car. Enjoy the show and be EXTRA careful out there.
Okay, remember you are in South Carolina now. Where slow drivers drive in the left hand lane and fast drivers drive to the right. If you keep this in mind, you will never get mad.
If you're going to make a right turn onto a street and the left lane has a car coming but the right lane is clear, don't go. There's a 50% chance that car will change lanes without a turn signal just as you're making your turn,
