To Robynn- no, I have not been on allergy shots since my twenties. Not sure how much they helped with pollens, but they did help me get rid of a dust mite allergy.
I'm hearing mixed reports about Charleston and allergies/asthma. Please keep your experiences coming! I do appreciate it. And thanks for the suggestion to call the asthma clinic in Charleston; I will do that.
Also, does anyone have experience with allergies or asthma and living in Hanahan or one of the nearby towns a bit inland? A friend of mine who has moved around a lot said Hanahan was the most favorite place she ever lived.
We went to Vermont once in the late summer -- first week of September time period. My husband was so sick -- we will never ever go back. I suspect it was ragweedish related.....
My asthma and allergies got a little worse when I got here. They changed my shots to fight the allergens here and now it's much much better.
This past couple months was the worst I've had in a long time though with the heavy pollen. I had to add a bunch of meds on top of the shots and I was still miserable. The pollen was heavy and bad and there was no rain for awhile to wash it away.
There is a lot to be allergic to here with the wet humid weather creating all kinds of molds and all the trees producing their different stuff.
I go to Charleston Allergy ... I would recommend the shots again if you move here.
