My buddy and I are traveling to visit Charleston for about 3 days. We are young and want to check out some pubs and bars while we are in Charleston. Any recommendations? Any other must see things while in Charleston?

What type of bars and pubs do you like to go to, places w/ live music, sports bars, laid back lounges, or dance clubs?

In downtown Charleston, my favorites are "The Blind Tiger Pub", "Charleston Beerworks" (great sports bar w/ over 20 beers on tap), "Pavilion Roof Top Bar"(roof of the Market Pavilion Hotel, great views of the city), "Wet Willie's", & Henry's on the Market. The Purple Tree Lounge is a pretty cool club as well.

If they have a good band playing, The Windjammer on the Isle of Palms is cool. Not sure if it's open in winter, but Red's Ice House on Shem Creek in Mt Pleasant is another great bar, especially when the weather is good.

If you are going to be in Summerville you need to check out O'Lacy's.
