On Google Maps there's a business marker over the site that says "proposed MBBQ". It's labeled as a barbeque restaurant (obviously). I tried looking it up, and couldn't find anything on it. The M could stand for Memphis?
I hate to see the Dunbar location close. Here's hoping another grocery chain can move in to the area and possibly use that location. We need more competition.
I am not surprised, and it does make a lot of sense. I'm sure that it will do very well there, but it's not something to get excited about. I would have much rather seen Stone Tower Brews https://stonetowerbrews.com/open a location in the Valley.
So far things aren't looking promising to Mayor Mullins statement a while back saying that the majority of the tenants would be "first in the state". Starbucks and Chickfila aren't even first in South Charleston.
“We’re trying to get things here in West Virginia that we don’t have whether that be restaurant, retail, whatever,” Mayor Mullens says. “We won’t get 100%, but if we’re 60-70% successful getting new things here in West Virginia, that’s kind of our goal.”
So far, not the case.

Mullens tells 13 News that there will be 20-26 tenants at the Park Place Shopping Center. The center is expected to be finished in August 2025.
The Starbucks building appears to be taking shape on the property that once was the Prestera Center. I can't see any construction work on the Menard's building, although it was supposed to be started as soon as Chick-Fil-A opened. After moving all that dirt around, with utility pipes put in at that time, now there are big sewer pipes on the ground, so I guess they are going to dig up large trenches to get those pipes in the ground. I thought it made good sense to put the pipes in place before the dirt was trucked in, so I'm confused about the pipes that are visible now.

Still waiting to see the "new to WV" entities to be announced.
