We had a very enjoyable visit! Currently, I live in Florida, however, my roots are in Cleveland, OH, so while with limited vacation time, I haven't planned a separate trip to Charleston yet (I would if I lived closer though, and combine it with somewhere like New River Gorge), it has become my favorite stopover on the trip (checking out 1 or 2 new places each time). I think it's a pretty underrated place, and while I may be in minority, I would probably take it over the South Carolina Charleston to live in at very least (I like that it's cheaper, I like the mountains, and the lack of excessive humidity!), and even possibly over where I live now (family aside). I probably will be stopping thru each summer and trying 2-3 new things for an hour or 2 each time, so, in a few years or so, I should have a pretty good grasp on the city : ). To anyone else looking for the overlook, once you get to the cemetery, the GPS point may or may not work, but just keep driving, and it will be intuitive (you want to be on the high road not covered by the rest of the cemetery). I did the Spring Hill one, next time I will try one of the others. I really want to check out Morgantown at some point too, but it would be a little out of our way.
