Hello, so I believe I may have asked this a couple years back (have made subsequent visits to the Capitol, East End and Downtown since then while passing thru). I will be passing through again in about a week, and I am planning to hit Capitol Market, and hopefully check out a skyline view. Is there a scenic road or park (even cemetery) overlooking the city, that you all would recommend to see? Apologize for asking again, but your advice would be appreciated.
I also forgot to add the top of the Carriage Trail (former Sunrise Museum), HERE. It used to be a children's museum, but now it's a law office. If you ask nicely, they may let you out on the back patio. If not, the trail is still open to the public.
Also, if you've seen this photo of Charleston:
You can sort of recreate it from the top of this parking garage.
Thanks! You've given me lots to work with. That last angle especially intrigues me!! Do you have to pay a significant amount or is there difficulty in getting up there? Would LOVE a shot like that.

You can walk right up to the top for free. It's pretty inexpensive to park there, too, if you decide. I think the shot was actually taken from the parking garage across Virginia from it (closer to the river). I believe that's a private garage now, but I don't think anyone will stop you from walking to the top of it.

Now that is an interesting photo, and very appropriate. The state's politicians surrounded by several church steeples .... there is no doubt in my mind that those folks could benefit from some sort of divine intervention.

It may be of interest to note that those that see this photo and have not been to Charleston, liken the capitol dome to St Paul's cathedral in London and assume it also some sort of Catholic church.

Actually, it does resemble that, but the folks inside that particular dome aren't likely to be nominated for Sainthood any time soon.
