How many places in there would the OP go for a bra?? The task would not be that daunting.
I just want to say, it depends on the person. I get VERY overwhelmed at Concord Mills. I said a few years ago I'd never go back; it *does* feel like a panic attack. I don't experience that in any other mall, I don't know what it is about Concord Mills. I broke my 'vow' about going once; AC Moore was having a dollar sale, and I thought, OK, I can go into just one store. I could not get outta that place quick enough! It might have been different if the store had an outside entrance, I don't know. But it's not worth it for any price for me to go there.
When I went to IC London, I was impressed by the service. I, too, usually have panic attacks when shopping at malls and department stores, but IC London is small and you don't have to shop -- the saleswoman will just bring you a bunch of options in the dressing room and advise you on fit.
A few things she told me that I didn't know:
- The measurement around your ribcage is the proper number for your bra. And it should fit on the LARGEST hooks (so that as the elastic stretches over 6 months, you can tighten it by using the smaller hooks). It should fit tightly, only 2 fingers should be able to sneak in between you and the bra strap.
- All those salespeople at Victoria's Secret and department stores over the years who told me that a 32C is the same as a 34B were just flat-out wrong.
- The middle part of an underwire bra (where the little bow is, between your breasts) should fit you FLUSH against your breastbone. It should not hover out in front of your body, suspended between the cups. That's the sign of a bra that doesn't fit properly.
- American sizes go A-B-C-D-DD-DDD-E-F.
- European sizes go A-B-C-D-E-F-G. Not sure why the American system is obsessed with D's! LOL But if you see a bra marked "E" there could be a huge difference in size if it's an American bra vs. a European bra. IC London uses European sizes just to make everything consistent.
Hope this helps! And for the record, my bras last a LOT longer than 3-6 months.
As for Target bras... I don't have any objection to anyone buying Target if they can find what fits. I just can't find one that fits me at Target.. The ladies are just a wee bit bigger than they offer.
