Yes, 115 is another good option...a little stop and go with lights, but you may still make better time than 77 when you get far enough north. I would still bail at exit 18 and go up 21, then you can hook over to 115 @ Mt Holly Huntersville and still go north all the way thru Davidson and then
cross back over to 77 on Langtree's new exit 31 and zip up to x36.

4:30 shouldn't be bad, but you never know how many people will slow down to look at the lake.

Why do people slow down to look at the lake? Don't they see it everyday?

Not all of them! There are a lot of
out of town commuters on Friday afternoons.
Plus it's usually not the water
that they're looking at...

It's not the only thing that some of them are looking for. During the summer boats will pull up to the road and the girls will take their tops off and jump up and down for the drivers. It does a number on the traffic. So they slow down to look even when this isn't going on.

Seems like a few times/summer. It's illegal and they have tried to crack down on it. However in general, drivers will slow down and look especially if there are boats out there just because if they don't live on the lake or have a boat, they are imagining they do.

There used to be a fence there where drivers could not see the lake from the road, but a few years ago Cornelius had the state take it down because they wanted people to see how nice it is to live there.

The local police have cracked down on flashing drivers because of the accidents in the past I am told from my friend that lives next to the bridge. It is a pity that people can't look at nudes and drive better than they can talk on their mobile phones and drive.
