There is a "Biz Center" located in the shopping center near my house. There is a security guard out front and when you look inside, it's obvious that everyone in there is doing what looks like internet gambling.

Sure, the sign out front says you can use the Internet, do faxes, etc., but it's also obvious that not one person in there is doing any "business" other than online slot machines, etc.

How are these legal? Is this as shady as it looks?

From what I read online, it's not legal and others have been shut down, but this one's not even trying to hide it... it's quite obvious at first glance.

What does anyone know about these?

They are illegal in Gaston County. They become illegal state-wide at the end of the year.

I am not familiar with the "Biz Center" but if it is one of those Sweepstakes Cafes it will be gone in December. They have been banned in North Carolina.

they are scam houses. a lot of times the computers have keyloggers on them and they steal your information. You have to register give out personal info and give your credit card info why anyone gullible for this and take this riskfor a business that will disappear in 2 months. I understand why this unregulated industry and no sales tax is being banned its for public safety.

I just love that the one by me has a sign tied up in front that says "Biz Center" and it's obviously for anything but business.
